Hey, I’m Kelly.
I guide families through anxiety, emotional struggles, and behavior challenges—so kids can thrive and grown-ups can breathe.
Welcome!
Step 1. We connect with you
You know your child best! That’s why we start with a dedicated parent intake session. We’ll explore your child’s history, your family dynamics, what’s worked (and what hasn’t), and your parenting journey so far. This helps us truly understand your child — and sets you up to feel more supported, sturdy, and regulated.
The Modern Youth Approach
We treat kids & teens with anxiety, depression, sensory and eating challenges, trauma and transition, and an array of behavioral issues. But before we address the symptoms, we get to know the individual .
Step 2. We connect with your child
Next, we meet with your child or teen. These first sessions are all about helping them feel safe and comfortable — and learning how they see and experience the world. During this time, we also conduct developmentally appropriate assessments to better understand their emotional, social, sensory, and behavioral needs. This helps us create a plan that’s truly tailored to them.
Step 3. We connect to the root cause
We go beyond surface behaviors to understand what’s really going on. Using a blend of modalities — like play therapy, expressive arts, animal-assisted support, and evidence-based strategies — we create an individualized plan to support growth, healing, and connection for your whole family.

Parents, we’re on your team
Parenting can be incredibly tough — especially when your child is struggling and you’re not sure how to help. Our child and teen therapy experts work with you to understand what’s happening beneath the surface, and support your family in moving toward more connection, confidence, and ease — so everyone can feel like themselves again.
Child Therapy
Our experts work closely with parents to develop a therapy plan that targets their child’s goals and needs.
We use a range of interventions such as imaginative play, mindfulness exercises, dance therapy, and sand tray play to make sure your child builds emotion regulation skills while having fun!
Adolescent Therapy
Less conflict, more connection! Our mission is to help your teen find more joy and ease in their life. Our preteen and teen therapists use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Expressive art therapy, and Mindfulness techniques to support this important life stage.
Parent Therapy
Our goal is to equip your family with tools that last long after therapy ends. To support a smooth transition, we work closely with parents—sharing guidance, skills, and practical strategies to use at home. Sometimes, the most meaningful progress comes from work within the family system itself, and we may recommend parent sessions to help strengthen the foundation your child is growing from.

You'll need to check with your insurance provider to confirm if this is an option under your plan.
Full payment is due at the time of service. The Modern Youth billing team is happy to assist you in navigating the reimbursement process or answering any questions along the way.

We require weekly sessions for at least several months. Why? We care about your success in therapy, and we want you and your child to get the most out of your commitment! We know from research that weekly sessions lead to better therapy outcomes due to increased momentum and stronger therapist-client relationship. Consistency = long-term success.

Because every client we work with has unique needs and goals, the length of therapy varies person to person! Some factors we take into consideration when thinking about therapy length is how long the symptoms have been present, family dynamics, and how quickly the client responds to interventions. Your therapist will provide you with an estimated length of therapy once they complete the initial assessments.

We believe parents are key to lasting positive change. We start with a 60-minute parent meeting to understand your concerns and create a clear path forward. While your child attends regular sessions, we keep you actively involved through regular check-ins (1-3 times monthly) to ensure progress extends to home and school. This collaborative approach helps strengthen your parent-child connection while giving your child space to grow.

Every child can benefit from having a safe space to explore their emotions and build confidence. Research shows that early support leads to better outcomes — helping children develop emotional awareness and coping skills that will serve them throughout their lives. Whether your child is experiencing daily challenges or occasional struggles, our expert therapists help them develop tools to manage emotions and build resilience.

It’s ok to be hesitant about therapy. We get it! If you have reservations about this process, it’s important to bring them up with your therapist. We take pride in our unique and modern approach to therapy. We go beyond traditional talk therapy and work with you to understand the root cause of your child’s challenges. While we cannot guarantee results, our approach is oftentimes a refreshing and new take on what’s off in your child’s mind and body and what you can do differently moving forward.
